Become a Collection Site

Municipalities, First Nations and Métis Settlements, waste authorities, and commissions—collectively referred to as registered collectors—are the front line of Alberta's recycling programs. There are approximately 438 electronics, paint, tire, and used oil materials recycling depots (collection sites) in 161 municipalities, ensuring that wherever you live or do business in Alberta, there is a depot nearby.

ARMA is proud to offer two grants, the Beyond-The-Bin Recycling Roundup Grant and the Used Oil Materials Support Grant, to support collection sites across the province. We also offer advertising templates that collection sites can use to promote their collection of stewardship materials.

Request Collection Site Funding

Electronics and paint collection funding can be claimed when the materials are shipped to a registered processor for recycling. All registered collector claims are reported through the ARMA Connect portal.

ARMA provides quarterly collection funding, with our fiscal year running from April 1 to March 31 of each year.

Collection Site Awards

Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) understands that communities work hard to provide organized, convenient, and safe options for the public to recycle their end-of-life materials.

ARMA awards three registered collection sites each year with the Collection Site Award of Excellence, recognizing communities’ exceptional dedication to offering recycling options for electronics, paint, tires, and used oil while meeting all registered collection site requirements.
